Casting was today confirmed for the return of Bristol Old Vic's acclaimed production, Pink Mist, which kicks off a national tour from Bristol Old Vic on 23 January.

The lead role of Arthur will be taken by Dan Krikler, joining returning cast members Alex Stedman as Hads, Peter Edwards as Taff, Rebecca Killick as Lisa, Rebecca Hamilton as Gwen and Zara Ramm as Sarah.

Dan is a recent graduate from Central School of Speech and Drama. His previous stage work include the UK tour of Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia! at the Novello Theatre and Loserville for West Yorkshire Playhouse. His television credits include current ITV series The Halcyon.

Speaking today Dan said - "I was pretty nervous to jump into Phil Dunster's shoes and take on the part he originally created. However, the great thing I've realised is just how much of an ensemble production it actually is. The cast work together to create something unlike anything else I've seen and I'm really proud to become part of that. Arthur is an amazing character, brilliantly written and imagined by the whole team. It's a role of a lifetime and I hope I can do him justice!"

Written by Owen Sheers, ('the war poet of our generation'- Independent) and adapted for the stage by co-directors John Retallack and George Mann, Pink Mist had its world premiere at Bristol Old Vic in July 2015, creating one of the Theatre's most powerful and talked about productions of recent times. It then returned due to huge audience demand in January 2016 as part of Bristol Old Vic's 250th celebrations. It will have its homecoming run at Bristol Old Vic from 23-28 Jan 2017, prior to a UK tour.

Pink Mist charts the emotional and physical devastation caused to three young Bristol soldiers returning from Afghanistan and the impact on their loved-ones. At its world premiere in 2015, it immediately became one of Bristol Old Vic's most poignant productions and created an unprecedented response with audiences through this deeply Bristolian, yet wholly universal story.
