Sydney Fringe Comedy Returns For 2016

The producers of the Sydney Comedy Festival will present the sixth annual Sydney Fringe Comedy program from Tuesday 30th August to Friday 30th September 2016. A one-month celebration of hilarity and fun, Sydney Fringe Comedy will feature a raft of promising emerging comedic talent alongside established performers presenting exclusive new material.

This year's massive program includes over 100 shows from local and international performers, with up to 16 shows taking place each night at Marrickville's Factory Theatre which will be transformed into a buzzing festival hub complete with music, food and plenty of beverages.

With most tickets between $10-15, Sydney Fringe Comedy is one of the best value nights in town. As Program Director Shane Smith said, "We really want our audience to experience acts that they've never heard before, and for that reason we try to keep ticket prices as low as possible. We encourage everyone to come to the festival hub and take a chance on what could be their new favourite comedy act - we believe that is the true festival experience."

Since its inception, Sydney Fringe Comedy has hosted many performer's debut shows which have continued on to win prestigious awards including Corey White (Best Newcomer - Sydney Comedy Festival and MICF 2015), Tom Walker (Best Newcomer - MICF 2016), Zanzoop (Director's Choice - MICF 2016), Rhys Nicholson (Barry Award nominee - MICF 2016) and Ronny Chieng (Director's Choice - MICF 2014, ARIA Awards 2015 nominee and Helpmann Awards 2015 nominee).
