Pack your picnic basket and get ready for a night of incredible opera, as Mazda Opera in the Domain is just around the corner, with some of Opera Australia's most renowned singers performing crowd favourites throughout the evening.

Local and international artists will gather under the stars this January to perform at Opera Australia's annual Mazda Opera in the Domain on Saturday 23 January at 8:00pm. Part of Sydney Festival, the free outdoor concert will feature popular arias from works by opera's greatest composers.

Brought to you by Opera Australia's Principal Partner Mazda Australia, which is committed to introducing opera to a wider audience, the evening concert celebrates the magic and memorable moments in opera.

"Summer in Sydney is a magical time of year, filled with long balmy evenings and a packed calendar of exciting events. What better way to celebrate than to sit under the stars listening to some of Australia's greatest singers?" says Opera Australia Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini AM.

"It's our great joy to bring this wonderful concert to all of you as a gift for a wonderful and peaceful 2016."

The stage will light up with a dazzling line up of Opera Australia's favourite artists -including popular sopranos Lorina Gore and Natalie Aroyan; mezzo?soprano Sian Pendry; the unforgettable voice of tenor Diego Torre and charismatic baritone Luke Gabbedy.

The artists will be accompanied by the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra under the direction of conductor Brian Castles-Onion. With ABC Classic FM's Christopher Lawrence as the Master of Ceremonies.
