Opera Exposures presents 'The Story of Elizabeth Jennings: 100 Years Before Rosa Parks' at St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery on January 14, 2024. This recital celebrates the life of Jennings, who fought against racial discrimination in 1854. After reviewing over 1,000 applicants from across the country and abroad, Palm Beach Opera has announced the international roster of 14 resident artists who will train with the company for the next five months. Throughout their 2024 Season residency, the artists appear on the PBO mainstage in supporting roles, perform in local concerts, train with esteemed guest faculty, and more.

Coming off Opera Orlando’s most successful year to date, the Company is pleased to announce the hiring of a new staff position this month. The Opera welcomes Glorivy Arroyo as its new development manager. Ms. Arroyo will work under senior development director Russell P. Allen and will focus on grant writing, donor cultivation, special events, and the Company’s annual giving campaign. 

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota recently held a statewide classical vocal competition for students between the ages of 17 and 22. Twenty-seven applicants from 13 schools participated, with students from Stetson University taking the top three prizes.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan, the first production of Paper Mill’s 2022-2023 season. The production will feature Linedy Genao (On Your Feet! on Broadway) as Gloria, and Brandon Espinoza (Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants) as Emilio.
