Hilary Hahn was able to pass from child prodigy to a prestigious soloist with a great seriousness, and has built a solid career, which includes all the violin repertoire imaginable. She returns to Barcelona to continue to share her legendary technical perfection and magical sound.
The Second Symphony by Rachmaninoff was a spectacular success, but no one could imagine that, over time, it would become one of the most performed Russian works worldwide. The composer took it on the first tour he made to United States, where it enjoyed great popularity on American soil. Benet Casablancas, one of our most international writers, is resident composer of L'Auditori and among the projects that he is undertaking is the composition of the work commissioned for today's concert. This will be Kazushi Ono's final concert as guest conductor of the OBC before becoming principal conductor in the season 15-16.
