The Choreographers’ Exchange Project begins with the National Dance Company of Korea’s ambition to pursue more wide-ranging artistic ventures in 2013. The National Dance Company of Korea and a group of outstanding choreographers from Korea and overseas are concentrating their efforts on the expressive possibilities of a pure language of the body that transcends the genre of dance. The first such choreographer, An Seongsu, presents a work titled [Altar] that he has been working on for some time with the National Dance Company of Korea’s project in mind. On a changeable stage forming steps that go dynamically up and down, the unique contemporary sensibility of An Seongsu meets the tradition-based Korean dance movements of the National Dance Company of Korea.
