Centre Stage is proud to host GLOW, Greenville Light Opera Works, during their 2010-11 season and will feature their production, Trial by Jury, on the mainstage at 501 River Street.

In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two different but equally important groups: the police who investigate crimes, and the attorneys who prosecute the offenders. This is their story.

Updated to take place in a modern-day South Carolina courtroom, Trial by Jury is a hilarious one-act operetta about a jilted woman who sues her playboy fiance for "dreadful damages." The performance will be paired with a revue of ensembles and songs from Gilbert & Sullivan favorites, including The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore, to create a fun and tuneful evening.

If you're a fan of a Gilbert & Sullivan, then you won't want to miss GLOW's Trial by Jury opening next Friday night, November 12th. Directed by Jenna Tamisiea and conducted by Dr. Christian Elser, Trial by Jury features Lisa Sain Odom, James Plante, Bruce Meahl, Joe Hager and an ensemble of more than twenty performers.

Trial by Jury runs November 12, 13, 19 & 20 at 8:00 p.m. and one Sunday matinee on November 14 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 with discounts available for seniors and students. Tickets can be ordered through the Centre Stage box office at 864.233.6733. Box office hours are Tuesday through Friday, 2:00-6:00 p.m. and two hours before performances.
