The Mac-Haydn Theatre (MHT), after a successful run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, continues its 49th season with the 2004 musical comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Based off of the 1988 movie of the same name, the 10-time Tony nominated musical by David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane will be a MHT premiere.

The annual KLEBAN PRIZE FOR MUSICAL THEATRE presentation took place just yesterday, February 6 at ASCAP.  Some of Broadway's legendary musical theatre creators and young-up-and-comers will come out to honor the two prize winners, perform some of their material, and present their prizes at a food and drink reception hosted by ASCAP and BMI.

Das Stadttheater Bremerhaven eroffnete am Samstag, den 19. September 2015, die neue Spielzeit mit der Premiere des Broadway-Musicals ANYTHING GOES von Cole Porter. Um 19.30 Uhr hob sich der Vorhang im Großen Haus fur die beschwingte Reise skurriler Passagiere an Bord eines Luxusliners. In dem Tanzmusical der Extraklasse erklingen Songs wie „I get a kick out of you" oder „You're the top", die zu den beliebtesten Jazzstandards und Steppnummern gehoren. Regisseur Nico Rabenald inszeniert erstmals in Bremerhaven. Die Musikalische Leitung liegt beim 1. Kapellmeister Ido Arad.

On Monday, November 22, Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer of Lincoln Center Theater (LCT) received the John Houseman Award for his work at Lincoln Center and as Joseph Papp's Associate Producer of The New York Shakespeare Festival (NYSF) at The Acting Company's Masquerade Gala. Tom Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), was also honored with the Joan Warburg Humanitarian Award for his leadership and advocacy in the fight against AIDS. Kelsey Grammer and Patti LuPone entertained as Angela Lansbury, Marian Seldes, Elizabeth Wilson, Campbell Scott, Dana Ivey, Shubert's Philip Smith and Robert Wankel, Jujamcyn's Paul Libin, Equity's Nick Wyman, The Actors Fund's Joe Benecasa and The Broadway League's Charlotte St. Martin and more joined the salute. Rebecca Luker has been a Broadway favorite since she stepped in as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera in 1988. She is currently starring in Mary Poppins for which she earned a 2007 Tony Award® nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Other Broadway credits include Show Boat (Tony® nomination), The Music Man (Tony® nomination), Nine, the most recent revival of The Sound of Music, and The Secret Garden. Ms. Luker recently performed to sold-out audiences at her critically acclaimed American Songbook Series of solo concerts at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Her recordings include Leaving Home (PSClassics.com), Anything Goes: Rebecca Luker Sings Cole Porter, Aria, Aria 2 and Aria 3 (Koch records), The Boys From Syracuse, Wonderful Town, Annie Get Your Gun, Broadway Showstoppers, Jerome Kern Treasury, and Brigadoon.
