Cocktails named after some of the show stopping musical numbers from the smash Broadway musical CHICAGO greeted the cast, crew, and guests at a post-performance party at Marti's, a bistro in the French Quarter, late Tuesday night. CHICAGO's current tour cast, headlined by Bianca Marroquin (Roxie Hart), Terra C. MacLeod (Velma Kelly), John O'Hurley (Billy Flynn in select cities), Jacob Keith Watson (Amos Hart), Roz Ryan (Matron 'Mama' Morton), and C. Newcomer (Mary Sunshine), kicked off CHICAGO's 16th U.S. Tour at the newly reopened atmospheric theatre in NOLA, the 2,736-seater Saenger Theatre along Canal Street, with a rapturous standing ovation from a packed audience earlier that evening.

Bill Hanney's award winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) presents the killer hit musical, CHICAGO for two weeks only. CHICAGO began performances last night, September 23 and plays through Sunday, October 5. Press night is scheduled for tonight, September 24 at 7:30 pm. The Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of CHICAGO, the musical which holds the record as the third longest running show in Broadway history, will star Samantha Barks as Velma Kelly, Drew Carey as Amos Hart, Lucy Lawless as 'Mama' Morton, Stephen Moyer as Billy Flynn, and Ashlee Simpson as Roxie Hart. On Monday, April 8, 2013, Broadway's Chicago welcomed Tony Award nominee Adam Pascal in the role of slick criminal lawyer Billy Flynn and comedienne and radio host Christine Pedi made her Chicago debut as Matron 'Mama' Morton. We couldn't miss their first curtain call!

'A story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and treachery - all the things we hold near and dear to our hearts.' And so begins Chicago. Created by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, Chicago nabbed 10 Tony nominations when it opened on Broadway in 1975 and won six awards for its' 1996 revival. The movie adaptation was honored with six Academy Awards, including Best Picture in 2003.

CHICAGO is coming back to Detroit with John O'Hurley starring as Billy Flynn. CHICAGO will be at Detroit's Fisher Theatre May 17 -22, 2011. DesiLit presents the third Kriti Festival, a celebration of South Asian and diaspora literature and arts, to be held June 11-14, 2009, at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and Roosevelt University. The four-day Kriti Festival is slated to include participant panels, author readings, writing workshops, publishing and marketing seminars, live performances, and question and answer sessions with literary agents and editors.
