The New Group presents the first production in its 2012-2013 season, the world premiere of The Good Mother, a new play by Francine Volpe. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production features Mark Blum, Darren Goldstein, Gretchen Mol, Alfredo Narciso and Eric Nelsen. Previews began October 31 in advance of an Official Opening Night tomorrow, November 15 at 7:00pm. The limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through December 22 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre / 410 West 42nd Street / Acorn Theatre). The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Bring It On: The Musical will be produced by Ghostlight Records and available on Back Lot Music, and available for digital download on iTunes beginning September 25, 2012 and in stores October 16, 2012. The cast of Bring It On recorded the album at MSR Studios in New York City on August 9, 10 and 16, 2012 under the direction of Album Producers Alex Lacamoire, Tom Kitt and Kurt Deutsch.

Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of 'Bring It On: The Musical' took part in a celebration kicking off the ation tour of the musical on October 22, 2011. Also there were cheer squads from Narbonne High School (Harbor City), Mira Mesa High School (San Diego), Hart High School (Santa Clarita) and Santa Monica High School (Santa Monica); dance squads from St. Genevieve High School (Panorama City) and Los Alamitos High School (Los Alamitos); Glendale Community College's cheer squad, UCA cheer and dance instructors and a pep band. Guest hosts included KIIS FM's JoJo, Telemundo's Jorge Bernal and Hannah of 'The Glee Project.'
