BWW Review: Abby Mueller Rocks the Kennedy Center in BEAUTIFUL
by Benjamin Tomchik - Oct 12, 2015

Even though Beautiful may not be a perfect show, it's still a fun night out and a reminder that Carole King is as a part of the American songbook as is Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.

BWW Reviews: Delightful [title of show] at Beck Center for the Arts
by Roy Berko - Oct 13, 2014

Truth, well maybe the truth, can be stranger than fiction. According to the show, itself, the musical '[title of show],' yes, that's the title of the show, which is now appearing on stage at Beck Center's Studio Theater, was conceived when one of the script's authors received an announcement about a musical festival. The New York Musical Festival, to be exact. The NYMF was in search of new musical scripts.

BWW Reviews: OTHER DESERT CITIES Makes Radiant Regional Debut at Circuit Playhouse
by Caroline Sposto - Jan 19, 2014

Tolstoy wrote that, 'Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.' Playwright Jon Robin Baitz extrapolated on that theory in his drama, Other Desert Cities, a 2012 Tony Award nominee for Best Play. It's an intricate script and the regional premiere at The Circuit Playhouse does it justice.

Barbra Streisand, the multi-gifted artist added another feather to her hat on May 25th by appearing in a casual setting at this year's BookExpo America (BEA) at the Opening Night Keynote Reception. People lined up a day early to secure tickets to be sure that they would see Barbra, and they did - in a new light and interviewed by the equally well known in popular culture - Gayle King, who is now a New Yorker.

Photo Flash: [title of show] Receives Australian Premiere, 5/3
by Jeff Dennhardt - May 2, 2010

[title of show] is a musical about two guys named Jeff and Hunter by two nobodies named Jeff and Hunter. In 2004, the real Jeff and Hunter decided to enter the inaugural New York Music Theatre Festival (NYMF). The problem was, they didn't have a musical. With a deadline set, three weeks later they entered [title of show], named after the first line in the festival application form. Following its debut at NYMF, [title of show] enjoyed an acclaimed run at the Vineyard Theater Off-Broadway in 2006, and the release of an Original Cast Album that same year. They fulfilled their Broadway aspirations July 2008, where [title of show] ran for over 100 performances starring the writers themselves. The Magnormos season is the first production outside of the USA.

Photo Coverage: Remember How I Love You: Love Letters from an Extraordinary Marriage
by Peter James Zielinski - Nov 14, 2009

The posthumous release of Remember How I Love You: Love Letters from an Extraordinary Marriage, Jerry and Elaine Orbach's autobiographical memoir recounting their thirty year marriage, was celebrated at a once-in-a-lifetime reunion of the couple's colleagues and friends at The Snapple Theater Center on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 5:30 PM. Each morning before leaving their Hell's Kitchen apartment to report to the set of Law & Order, Jerry wrote Elaine a short poem for her to find upon waking. The poems were humorous, sweet and topical, focusing on the couple's morning rituals, their daily routine - whatever was on Jerry's mind. Combined, they tell the story of a marriage full of life and love.

Photo Flash: GEORGE COSTACOS TRIBUTE
by Reynard Loki - Mar 25, 2009

An overflow crowd of friends, colleagues, and fans packed the Actors Equity Audition Center this past Monday, May 16th, 2009 to pay tribute to the late Broadway actor/singer George Best Costacos. The memorial, right in the heart of Broadway, was a moving, magical tribute to a multitalented artist who passed away a few months ago at the age of 44 of complications from a brain tumor. His untimely death left a big void but George?s talent, passion and spirit filled the room as his friends and colleagues performed works they had collaborated on, as well as pieces dedicated specifically to him. Among these was Broadway cabaret legend Steve Ross, composer and pianist Seth Weinstein and singer Lynn Manuel. Noted actress/director Fotini Baxevani and novelist, author, screenwriter and Fulbright Scholar Gianni Scaraga, both from Greece, recited some of George?s poems and prose in Greek and in English. They were joined by actress Carina Gregorio. Video clips of George?s performances and life filled the screen and mesmerized those present.
