Hockey Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille and his wife artist/author Stacia were honored on Friday at the COP 4 CAUSES 'Golden Ticket' event for their years dedication to foster youth.
Tomorrow's World: The New York World's Fairs and Flushing Meadows Corona Park opens to the public on June 26 at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park, and will be on view weekdays through August 27. Organized by Jonathan Kuhn, Parks Director of Art & Antiquities, and Jennifer Lantzas, Parks' Public Art Coordinator, the show is mounted on the occasion of the 75th and 50th anniversaries of the New York World's Fairs of 1939-40 and 1964-65. Today, Flushing Meadows Corona Park Administrator Janice Melnick joined Council Member Julissa Ferreras, Deputy Borough President Barry Grodenchik, representatives of Community Boards 4,6 and 8, New York Carousel Entertainment, students from P.S. 16 and local residents to open the Flushing Meadows Corona Park Carousel for the season and celebrate the new Fantasy Forest Amusement area. An overflow crowd including many dignitaries from the political, scientific and artistic communities of Austria, the United States and Greece, came to the historic city hall, the Altes Rathaus in Vienna, Austria on Friday, November 4th, 2011 for the presentation of the George 'Best' Costacos Cultural and Cancer Research Foundation's awards.
