Guerilla Opera presents Let's Make a Sandwich, an experiment in opera production, which includes two world premiere operas with music and librettos by composers Rudolf Rojahn and Curtis K. Hughes, and stage direction by Copeland Woodruff and Giselle Ty. Through performance, this production investigates the culture of contemporary opera production and highlights where the influence of the composer ends and the director begins. Let's Make a Sandwich plays for one weekend only: Thursday through Saturday, September 25, 26 and 27, 2014, at 8 p.m. with an audience talk-back on Friday, September 26; all performances are in The Zack Box Theater at The Boston Conservatory, located at 8 The Fenway in Boston, MA. Tickets can be purchased beginning Wednesday, September 10, 2014, and are $15 general admission, $10 senior citizens and free for students with a valid ID (for at-the-door purchases only). The Off-Broadway theatre company The Shelter - an ensemble of writers, directors, actors and designers developing original works for the stage - will present the world premiere of their newest work, GHOST LIGHT, a collection of six original short plays performed on a bare stage below a single light. Preview performances of GHOST LIGHT began February 21 prior to an official press opening of February 24 at the Gloria Maddox Theatre (151 West 26th Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001) in Manhattan.
