WICKED once again cast its spell over Bristol on Tuesday, when Elphaba defied gravity above the Floating Harbour as part of a special launch event at M Shed. Marking the return of the UK & Ireland Tour to The Bristol Hippodrome from 31 January 2018, the stars of the new tour were also introduced, with Amy Ross (Elphaba), Helen Woolf (Glinda) and Aaron Sidwell (Fiyero) starring. Lindsay Mendez and Derek Klena recently joined the cast of Wicked, assuming the roles of Elphaba and Fiyero. Beginning performances on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Jackie Burns and Chandra Lee Schwartz will assume the roles of Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, in the Broadway cast of Wicked. Ms. Burns and Ms. Schwartz come to Broadway directly from Wicked's First National Tour. The Broadway company currently features Richard H. Blake as Fiyero, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, Tom McGowan as The Wizard, Etai BenShlomo as Boq, Cristy Candler as Nessarose, and Tom Flynn as Dr. Dillamond.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series last night featured the American concert debut of Dutch performer Willemijn Verkaik, best known to theater lovers for originating the role of Elphaba in the German production of Wicked.
