Signature Theatre presents Elmer Gantry, a musical version of Sinclair Lewis' best-selling novel, directed by Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer (Broadway's Follies, Million Dollar Quartet). Schaeffer collaborated on the last production of Elmer Gantry at Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre in Chicago with authors John Bishop (book), Mel Marvin (music) and Bob Satuloff (lyrics) in 1998; the show has not been produced since then. This will be the 5th production in the show's history. Running in the MAX Theatre October 7 - November 9, Signature's production will include several brand new songs by Mel Marvin and Bob Satuloff and a reimagined script that John Bishop worked on until his death in 2006. Sally Cookson's enchanting and inventive production of Cinderella: A Fairytale runs at St. James Theatre until 26 January 2013, with press night on 18 December 2012. The cast is Craig Edwards (Step Mother/ Father), Thomas Eccleshare (Prince), Tom Godwin (Step Brother), Lisa Kerr (Ella) and Lucy Tuck (Step Sister). After the success of Brief Encounter in the West End and on Broadway, Kneehigh's new adaptation of Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand's The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will arrive at the Gielgud Theatre following a limited run at Curve, Leicester. The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will begin previews on 5 March, with press night on 22 March and is booking until 1 October 2011. Directed by Emma Rice, with lyrics translated by Sheldon Harnick, designs by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, sound by Simon Baker and musical supervision by Nigel Lilley, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg will be produced in the West End by Daniel Sparrow and Mike Walsh Productions, Curve Leicester and City Lights International in association with BE MY Productions.

It was announced earlier this month that the new musical VANITIES will receive an original cast album. The three-woman cast of the show, which recently performed its New York premiere Off-Broadway at Second Stage Theatre, headed into studio yesterday to record the album for Sh-K-Boom Records.
