The longest-running show in Broadway history, the Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Group, Inc. production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince, reaches an unprecedented milestone today, Wednesday, January 26, 2011, when it celebrated its Twenty-Third Anniversary on Broadway. Playing its 9,566th & 9,567th performances at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street), it becomes the first Broadway production ever to have run 23 years.

On Monday December 6, Sean MacLaughlin and Liz McCartney took over the roles of Raoul and Carlotta, respectively, in the longest-running show in Broadway history - The Phantom of the Opera.

Starting September 1, 2010, high schools and colleges across the United States and Canada have been allowed to license THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA for performances in their schools. PHANTOM is licensed for these amateur performances exclusively by R&H Theatricals, an Imagem Company. For more information, visit www.rnh.com. The third national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, known as the Music Box Company, played its final performance on Halloween, October 31, 2010, at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles - appearing at the show's curtain call were none other than composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and the show's original Christine, Sarah Brightman.

Wallenberg, a new musical drama starring Scott Mikita (Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera) opened this past Saturday night, October 30, at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. The opening night celebration was held at Blue in White Plains. Wallenberg, which launches WPPAC's 5-show mainstage season, will run through November 21, 2010.

Last night, on June 14, The Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director; Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) presented a rare concert performance of Alan J. Lerner and Frederick Loewe's 'Brigadoon' on Broadway for its 2010 Annual Benefit Gala.

Rehearsals begin yesterday, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). Following the New York rehearsal period, the production will open at London's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory with performances running May 19 through June 26. The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA reached another new milestone as musical became the first Broadway show ever to reach 9,000 performances. The occasion was marked with a special presentation during the 2PM matinee's curtain call.

Ryan Silverman, who previously starred as 'Raoul' in the Las Vegas production, took over the role on Broadway on Friday, April 24th.
