Different Stages continues its 2011 - 2012 season with Murder on the Nile, one of Dame Agatha's most popular mysteries. Simon Mostyn has recently married the beautiful, wealthy Kay Ridgeway, having thrown over his former lover Jacqueline. The couple is on their honeymoon and is at present on a paddle steamer on the Nile. With them are Kay's guardian, and Jacqueline, who has been dogging their footsteps all through the honeymoon. Also on the boat are a rich, ill-tempered woman and her niece, a rather direct young man, a doctor who nurses a grudge against Kay's father, and Kay's maid. During the voyage? well, you'll just have to see what happens. (more...)

American Players Theatre (APT) announces its 2013 Season, which runs June 8 to October 20, 2013, and includes the first indoor Shakespeare production of the company's history: an intimate adaptation of Antony and Cleopatra by heralded off-Broadway actor and playwright James DeVita and director Kate Buckley, presented in the 200-seat Touchstone Theatre. DeVita, one of APT's Core Company members, recently completed a critically acclaimed run of his solo show In Acting Shakespeare at the Pearl Theater in New York. (more...)

Different Stages' NIGHT MUST FALL Opens Tonight at The Vortex

Different Stages continues its 2012 - 2013 season with Emlyn Williams's classic mystery Night Must Fall. In a bungalow in a forest in Essex lives Mrs. Bramson, a fussy hypochondriac. She pays her niece Olivia a small salary to act as her companion and the household also includes her cook, Mrs. Terence, and her maid Dora. When Dora gets pregnant, Mrs. Bramson is determined to get the boyfriend to marry her. At the same time, a woman disappears from a nearby hotel. The police begin investigations and, when Dora brings home her boyfriend Dan, Olivia immediately notices that his behavior is not quite normal. He is perpetually putting on an act and soon he worms his way into the affections of Mrs. Bramson, leaves his job as pageboy at the hotel and moves in. Then the woman's body is found - headless...
