The Sound of Music has been popular in recent auctions, with a lot this summer selling for over $1.5 million, also from Profiles in History. With the two companies collaborating and promoting each other's productions, patrons can purchase discount tickets to see both comedies by contacting the box office at either theater. For the low price of $75 for Sunday,Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings or Saturday matinees, patrons will receive a ticket to see Present Laughter at Two River Theater in Red Bank andFallen Angels at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison. The third installment of this highly coveted collection is set to be auctioned worldwide on December 19th. The Property of a Distinguished American Private Collector Parts l and ll were blockbuster sales with a distressed letter from Vincent van Gogh selling for $336,000 and an internationally sought after Marilyn Monroe letter addressed to Lee Strasberg in which she wrote about the phycological toll Hollywood has taken on her. The letter written in pencil was estimated to sell between $30,000-50,000 and sold for $156,000. (more...)
