Pittsburgh Public Theater's leader, Ted Pappas, to Depart After the 2017/2018 Season

For the past 17 years Pittsburgh Public Theater has been led by impresario and consummate showman Ted Pappas. His aesthetic has defined the company, his business acumen has kept the organization remarkably debt-free, his exacting standards have established The Public as one of the finest regional theaters in America, and his tireless presence at numerous performances have made him the face of Pittsburgh Public Theater. Mr. Pappas this week announced that in 18 months he will leave the company, at the conclusion of the 2017/2018 season. During his final season he will direct productions of Peter Shaffer's Equus, Stephen Sondheim's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and William Shakespeare's Hamlet. (more...)

Russian Crime Novelist and Political Dissident Boris Akunin to Take on HAMLET Off-Broadway

The best-selling Russian crime fiction writer Boris Akunin's new stage adaptation of Shakespeare's HAMLET will debut this spring Off-Broadway when Red Lab Productions and Roust Theatre Company present HAMLET. A VERSION, with previews beginning April 21, prior to the official press opening on April 25 at The Theater at St. Clement's (423 W. 46 St.) in New York City. HAMLET. Orangetheory Fitness More Than Doubles Donation Goal To Help Find A Cure For ALS

Orangetheory Fitness, the scientifically backed and fast-growingfitness franchise, today announced it raised more than $2 million in two weeks for Augie's Quest, a foundation dedicated to finding a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) disease. Orangetheory Fitness more than doubled its original goal of raising $1 million thanks to the support of its franchisees, coaches, studio staff and more than 430,000 members nationwide. The company's first national fundraiser, named the #IBurnForALS campaign, took place from Feb. 20 to March 5. During the two-week period, more than 620 Orangetheory Fitness studios around the country encouraged members to donate money to support Orangetheory's quest. The #IBurnForALS campaign is the largest in-club fundraiser and largest single year campaign since the inception of Augie's Quest 12 years ago. (more...)

'Love Knows No Bounds': a love story about two people from very different worlds brought together with their shared faith. 'Love Knows No Bounds' is the creation of published author, Virginia Eriful Sigley, a Filipino woman who was born and raised on a remote island in the Batanes island group called Itbayat, which lacked electricity and other modern conveniences. After high school, Virginia went to Manila to pursue a degree in Education. She then worked three years in the Batanes as a high school math and science teacher. During that time, she met her husband who was an American Peace Corps Volunteer working in the Batanes.
