Producer Stuart Thompson announced today that John Guare's critically acclaimed play Six Degrees of Separation will return to Broadway this spring in a revival starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train) as Ouisa and Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') as Flan. Trip Cullman (Significant Other, Punk Rock) will direct the production, which is set to open at the Barrymore Theatre in April 2017 and will run for 15 weeks only. (more...)

Miles G. Jackson to Star in MY NAME IS ASHER LEV at George Street Playhouse; Cast Announced!

George Street Playhouse today announced the cast of Aaron Posner's MY NAME IS ASHER LEV, which runs April 12 through May 1 at the New Brunswick theatre. Miles G. Jackson (4000 Miles) will portray the titular Jewish artist Asher Lev, who must be a painter despite his faith and the will of his family. Bob Ari (Frost/Nixon, GSP's Red) and Lena Kaminsky (Law & Order, GSP's The Pillowman) both return to George Street to round out the cast.  MY NAME IS ASHER LEV will be directed by George Street Playhouse Director of Education and Outreach, Jim Jack. As Puck and the other fairies at Mary's prepare for a celebration, their world is rocked by news of a break-up between their King and Queen. Joel Beddows Named New Artistic Director of Theatre francais de Toronto

Alexandra Vandelle, President of the Board of Directors and member of the selection committee, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joel Beddows as the new Artistic Director of Theatre francais de Toronto (TfT). Beddows' talent, professionalism and profound dedication to the arts garnered the respect of the selection committee during the rigorous selection process. Moreover, his experience not only as Artistic Director of Theatre La Catapulte from 1998 to 2010 but also as Chair of University of Ottawa's Department of Theatre from 2011 to 2016 substantiated the view that Beddows was indeed the perfect candidate for this position.
