On this day, we celebrate the life and legacy of legendary Broadway choreographer and director, Michael Bennett, who passed away from complications from AIDS on this day in 1987.

The Broadway community mourns the loss of beloved performer, lyricist and women's healthcare advocate Phyllis Newman, who passed away on September 15, 2019 at age 86. To commemorate her life and work, the Committee of Theatre Owners will dim the lights of the American Airlines, Broadhurst, Helen Hayes, Lunt-Fontanne, Lyric, New Amsterdam, Samuel J. Friedman, St. James, and Vivian Beaumont Theatres in New York for one minute on Friday, September 27 at exactly 7:45pm.

The Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, has been the premier curator of cutting-edge interactive storytelling for more than a decade. The 2018 Tribeca Immersive program showcases works by artists who are pushing boundaries, using technology to tell stories and create new experiences. The Virtual Arcade lineup, presented by AT&T, includes 21 world premiere VR/AR exhibits as well as five Storyscapes experiences in competition. But that's exactly what still spry 83-year-old song and dance man George Marcy is going to do--tapping his way over to Don't Tell Mama for the second time in three years--when he takes the stage (today September 23 and 29, both at 8pm) for his new show, I Wish I Were Twins. Marcy's latest cabaret effort is being director by famed Broadway Musical star and Marcy's good friend Carol Lawrence. The Musical Director/Pianist is Christine Sutin, with Boots Maleson on bass, and AaRon Russell on drums.
