The Olivier Award-winning production of King Charles III is currently touring the UK off the back of its prior success at the Almeida Theatre and the West End in 2014. There are also imminent measures in place to take the show to Broadway, with previews starting next month at the Music Box Theatre. Referred to as a 'future history' play, the story begins at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth and Charles' acquisition of the highest ranked Royal position as King. The text highlights the rights bestowed on members of the Royal family and focuses on King Charles' decision to dissolve Parliament following the News International phone hacking scandal. His immediate family also feature heavily in the play; the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thrust themselves into a more prominent position of authority and Prince Harry's desire to be a commoner and stripped of any further royal duties. 59E59 Theaters will launch the 2016 Brits Off Broadway festival with ECHOES, written by Henry Naylor, and directed by Mr. Naylor and Emma Buttler. Produced by Redbeard Theatre Ltd and Gilded Balloon Productions, ECHOES begins performances on Tuesday, April 19 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 1.  Press opening is Sunday, April 24 at 3:15 PM.  The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. BWW Reviews: Jane Monheit Presents Stunning Tribute to Judy Garland

Any opportunity to catch two-time Grammy-nominated international jazz superstar and frequent favorite BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award-winner Jane Monheit bring her talents to a local venue outside of New York (and even nearby Los Angeles) is its own cause for celebration. That was certainly evidenced by the rapturous reception she received during her triumphant return to Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Monheit closed out the Center's 2014-2015 Jazz series with Hello Bluebird, her jazz-centric tribute to the legendary Judy Garland. As expected, the 85-minute concert was nothing less than stunning. Earlier today it ws announced that Side Show will close at the St James Theatre in January, and according to the New York Times, Something Rotten! might takeover the space. A New York City developmental lab was held this fall, under the direction of Casey Nicholaw. Leading the cast (of the Lab, and not necessarily future productions) were Christian Borle, John Cariani, Allen Fitzpatrick, Brian d'Arcy James, Beth Leavel, Brad Oscar, Kate Reinders, Jeff Steizter, and Gerry Vichi. As Park Theatre, which won the 'Fringe Theatre of the Year' in the Stage 2015 awards, celebrates its second birthday, Artistic Director Jez Bond today announces its new season of work, including eight new writing world premieres alongside a number of exciting revivals. Alistair McGowan leads the cast in Jonathan Maitland's An Audience with Jimmy Savile; drawing extensively on material from genuine interviews, transcripts and TV shows, this is the first play to explore the most shocking sex scandal of our time. This is followed by striking new family drama The Gathered Leaves by Andrew Keatley and a new play by Craig Baxter, inspired by the work of Anthony Trollope. Lady Anna: All At Sea has been commissioned by the Trollope Society as part of the Trollop Bicentennial Celebrations. And there are usually so many witty retorts and double entendres, also often delivered very quickly, that they can sometimes be missed altogether.
