BWW Review: Fitting for International Women's Day, Theatre Three offers RESPECT: A MUSICAL JOURNEY OF WOMEN
by Melissa Giordano - Mar 8, 2017

Respect: A Musical Journey Of Women - currently playing through March 25th at Port Jefferson's gorgeous Theatre Three - is truly a thought-provoking show taking the audience on a roller coaster of emotions. The musical, created by Dorothy Marcic, takes us on the journey of women - inspired by the women in her life - through generations of Top 40 music. As society has changed, the attitude and tone in music has changed and with this production, Dorothy has basically built the soundtrack of generations of women. Do we as women have further to go? Yes, but the progress that we see is really inspiring from the 'doting housewife' to influential civil rights activists to Presidents of essential organizations. (more...)

BWW Review: THE NORMAL HEART Remains a Timeless Call to Action so Needed Right Now!

Fueled by love, anger, hope and pride, Larry Kramer's masterpiece THE NORMAL HEART centers on a circle of friends struggling to understand and contain a mysterious disease ravaging New York's gay community and one man's fight to awaken the world to the urgency of the situation. The guest production at the Chromolume Theater is magnificently directed by Marilyn McIntye on the small stage, a large part of which is due to the 5 moveable set pieces designed by David Mauer which are moved about to create all the different rooms so necessary for the production. Set changes are inspirational to watch, choreographed like a ballet down to the slightest detail. (more...)
