Dorks in Dungeons has been picked up as part of The Seacoast Repertory Theater's Red Light Series and will hold their once-monthly show on Sundays this season at 7pm starting on September 22. Rubicon Theatre Artistic Directors KARYL LYNN BURNS and JAMES O'NEIL announced the company's 15th Anniversary Season at a preview event for subscribers, donors and media last earlier this month at the theatre's home in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of Producing Artistic Director Andre Bishop, has announced that Bianca Amato, Shirine Babb, John Patrick Doherty, Austin Durant, Richard Easton, Francesca Faridany, Stephanie Fieger, Malcolm Gets, John Glover, Ben Horner, Ruy Iskandar, Brian d'Arcy James, Byron Jennings, Aaron Krohn, Jeremiah Maestas, Christopher McHale, Jonny Orsini, Sam Poon, Triney Sandoval, Nathan Stark, Daniel Sunjata, Patrick Vaill, Tyler Lansing Weaks and Derek Wilson will join Ethan Hawke and Anne-Marie Duff in its upcoming production of Shakespeare's MACBETH, directed by Jack O'Brien. The production, which will feature a cast of 27, will begin previews on Thursday, October 24 and open on Thursday, November 21 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). (more...)

The festivities begin with the return of a holiday revue with six Broadway singers and a local children's chorus; followed by a late-night adult comedy presented in a cabaret setting; a poetic reading of wartime love letters; and culminating with an enchanting new musical from the Tony and Olivier Award-winning director of Les Miserables and Nicholas Nickleby and the creators of Jane Eyre and Daddy Long Legs, who will have a five-week residency at Rubicon during the holidays. BWW Reviews: Comedienne Jo Anne Worley Keeps on Makin' Us Laugh

Funny lady Jo Anne Worley brings her inimitable wacky, zany style of humor, that made her an overnight success in Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In (1967-73), to Welk Resorts in Escondido this week June 26-30. Jo Anne has a warm winning way with her audience; they are the reason she's performing, as she tells us early on in the 90 minute autobiographical set entitled Keep Laughin', replete with clips from Laugh-In and accompanied by wonderful Ron Snyder at the piano. Worley makes a rare appearance at events like Bruce Kimmel's Kritzerland, but seldom does what she calls her 'one-man show'. So, this is a great big treat for all Worley fans. (more...)

Brighton Fringe Secured Place as England's Largest Arts Festival in 2013

2013 saw Brighton Fringe cement its place as England's largest arts festival, with an estimated 270,000 attendees (31.4% increase on 2012) flocking to some of the 734 individual events (including 176 free ones), 3654 performances at 185 venues across the city - from the atmospheric Old Police Cells to the back seats of cars. 45,000 people visited our free Fringe City outdoor showcase events and an estimated 1.5 million pounds were spent on over 165,000 tickets, making the average ticket price £9.
