Southampton Arts Center today announced its full lineup of fall programming, from September 20 through December 29. Closing out their 7th season, this fall will offer an exciting lineup of programs and two not-to-be missed exhibitions.

Lisa Matassa, known in the 80s as hitmaking freestyle dance star Lysa Lynn, returned to her roots of Country music in the mid 2010's and recorded an album of solo material as well as an album of duets with legendary country music artists such as Eddy Raven, The Bellamy Brothers, Johnny Lee, Mickey Gilley, Marty Raybon of Shenandoah and more. Having shared the stage with Dierks Bentley, Leann Rimes, Eric Church, Ronnie Dunn and most recently Lee Brice, Matassa continues to write songs and finds joy in the process of making music.

 Early Music Vancouver presents the return of the Vancouver Bach Festival, July 30 - August 9, 2019 at Christ Church Cathedral and the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. This year's festival celebrates EMV's 50th anniversary with performances by many of the top West Coast artists specializing in period performance, as well as gifted artists from across Europe and North America. EMV is particularly delighted to welcome Montreal's internationally acclaimed Ensemble Les Boreades to participate in their second annual ensemble-in-residence program, which will see members of the ensemble perform in multiple concerts throughout the festival.

The Folger Shakespeare Library will host the DC premiere of Ghost Light, a new dark comedy by filmmakers John Stimpson and Geoffrey Taylor. The film, a Feature Film Award-winner at the Austin Film Festival, will be shown in the historic Folger Theatre located on Capitol Hill. Tafelmusik is delighted to announce that Music Director Elisa Citterio has been named the winner of the 2019 Leonardo Award for Arts, Science & Culture by the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario (ICCO). Coinciding with the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the award honours an individual who has made a significant contribution to the cultural and intellectual life of Canada through their ground-breaking and innovative work in the field of arts, science, and/or culture. One of several 2019 ICCO Air Canada Business Excellence Awards granted to outstanding leaders from the business, scientific, academic, and cultural communities, the Leonardo Award will be presented to Elisa Citterio at a gala event on May 23, 2019 at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto.

As communities across the country move to rollback hard-won rights or advance anti-LGBTQ legislation (see President Trump's recent efforts to ban transgender people from serving in the military), the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC), in collaboration with the It Gets Better Project and Speak Theater Arts, is bringing its message of hope and inclusiveness through its it gets better tour to LGBTQ youth in Park City, UT, February 5-9, 2019.

Drama Learning Center's professional training company for emerging young artists opens the area premiere of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder tomorrow. The limited engagement will run for six performances only over the next two weekends.

 Five Boroughs Music Festival (5BMF) opens its 2018-19 season with a performance by duo Fire & Grace, featuring guitarist William Coulter and violinist Edwin Huizinga. Fire & Grace's programs explore the connective musical elements of classical, folk, and contemporary traditions from around the world, showcased through the duo's own arrangements. Concerts are held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at An Beal Bocht Café in Riverdale in collaboration with ClassicalCafé, with additional performances on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. atRockwood Music Hall, Stage 3 in Manhattan, and on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Alice Austen House in Staten Island.
