The story of Lucius Sims, a boy born with sea green eyes on both sides of his head, and the hardship he suffers due to his deformity at the hands of his schoolmates. One day a man shows up claiming to be his father (who he thinks is dead) and Lucius decides to trust him. He escapes with the man to a travelling theatre troupe.
