Due to overwhelming advance ticket sales, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) has announced that an extra week of performances will be added to the current schedule of the West Coast premiere of the Signature Theatre production of Old Hats. Originally scheduled to close on Sunday, October 5, tickets are now on-sale through Sunday, October 12. Old Hats will perform at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary Street, San Francisco). 59E59 Theaters will host the New York premiere of ASYMMETRIC, written by Mac Rogers and directed by Jordana Williams. Produced by Ground UP Productions in association with Gideon Productions, ASYMMETRIC begins performances on Friday, November 14 for a limited engagement through Saturday, December 6. Press opening is Wednesday, November 19 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 PM; Friday at 8:30PM; Saturday at 8:30 PM; and Sunday at 3:30 PM. Please note: there is an added performance on Saturday, November 29 at 2:30 PM and there is no performance on Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving). Producers Jeffrey Seller and Kathryn Schenker announceD that THE LAST SHIP will offer a limited number of tickets for each performance to be sold by lottery. Entries will be accepted at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $30 each. Only one entry is allowed per person. Each person drawn may purchase up to two tickets. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Tickets must be purchased in cash. Tickets are subject to availability. (more...)

Artistic Director Mark Bucher stages the play under the direction of Patricia Durante in this daring and unsettling view on the state of education in one small classroom set in Lake Forest, Illinois. Additionally, the network announced that the thriller will premiere on Thursday, March 5. THE LAST SHIP -- the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting and book by Tony Award-winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey -- will begin previews September 29 on Broadway, prior to opening night on October 26. The Last Ship is directed by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello and choreographed by Olivier Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Steven Hoggett. Steps Star and actress Faye Tozer will return to the stage in the uproariously funny new comedy, 69 SHADES OF BLACK. The show will begin a major national tour in Kilmarnock on Friday 10 April 2015 and then visit over 40 towns and cities around the country. Producers Jeffrey Seller and Kathryn Schenker announce that the box office for the new musical THE LAST SHIP will open on Monday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52 Street), in conjunction with a special one-time-only 24-hour flash sale from midnight August 25 to midnight August 26. For one day only, seats will be on sale for $39, $59 and $85 in the rear mezzanine, mid-mezzanine or orchestra/front mezzanine, respectively. (more...)
