Frankenstein Junior (titolo originale Young Frankenstein) e un musical del 2007, trasposizione teatrale dell'omonimo film di Mel Brooks con musiche e liriche dello stesso Brooks, libretto di Brooks e Thomas Meehan e regia originale di Susan Stroman. La versione italiana, curata dalla Compagnia della Rancia, si avvale della regia di Saverio Marconi e Marco Iacomelli e di un cast capitanato da Giampiero Ingrassia (Frederick Frankenstein), Mauro Simone (Igor), Valentina Gullace (Inga), Giulia Ottonello (Elizabeth) e Altea Russo (Frau Blucher). Her profound and powerful new play became an award-winning hit in London and New York. Now renowned director Jonathan Moscone brings it to Berkeley Rep this April for its Bay Area premiere. Tribes follows Billy, a young man who was born deaf into a loquacious and highly opinionated academic family who raised him to lip-read and integrate into the hearing world. The three operas that will have their first-ever Met performances, each staged by a director making his Met debut, are John Adams's The Death of Klinghoffer, conducted by David Robertson and directed by Tom Morris, opening October 20; Rossini's La Donna del Lago, conducted by Michele Mariotti and directed by Paul Curran, opening February 16, 2015; and Tchaikovsky's one-act opera Iolanta, conducted by Valery Gergiev and directed by Mariusz Treli?ski. How Did They Transform Marlon Brando in THE GODFATHER? Take a Look!

According to The Huffington Post, Marlon Brando was just 47 years old when he starred in The Godfather in 1972. However, the role he was playing, Don Vito Corleone, was that of a much older man. In order to fully accomplish the transformation from actor to character, makeup artist Dick Smith was called in.The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences posted an Instagram photo in honor of Marlon's birthday, showing the transformation side by side. Berkeley Repertory Theatre announces that today, due to extraordinary ticket demand, it will extend Tribes by seven performances before its first performance. Originally scheduled to run through May 11, audiences now have the opportunity to experience the critically acclaimed family drama by Nina Raine through Sunday, May 18. Directed by Jonathan Moscone, the play follows Billy, a young man who was born deaf into a loquacious and highly opinionated academic family who raised him to lip-read and integrate into the hearing world. When he meets Sylvia - raised by deaf parents and going deaf herself - Billy decides it's time to speak on his own terms and be heard. Irish Rep's SEA MARKS Opens 5/5 Off-Broadway

Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre proudly announces the final production of its 2013-2014 Season, a revival of Gardner McKay's SEA MARKS, directed by Ciaran O'Reilly. The romantic two-hander will star Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Xanthe Elbrick (CORAM BOY, Irish Rep's Candida) and Patrick Fitzgerald (Irish Rep's GIBRALTAR). SEA MARKS will be performed April 23rd through June 15th on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage of the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street).
