Gotham Chamber Opera, Music-Theatre Group and the Opera Company of Philadelphia announced the commission of a new American opera, DARK SISTERS, composed by Nico Muhly with libretto by Stephen Karam, conducted by Neal Goren, and directed by Rebecca Taichman at The Chelsea Art Museum on Thursday, October 28. The three organizations have co-commissioned and will co-produce the opera, which will have its World Premiere in November 2011 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College, 899 Tenth Avenue, NYC, one of the first works to be presented at the Theater following the creation of a new lobby at the space. The cast will be headed by Caitlin Lynch and Kevin Burdette, with Kristina Bachrach, Jennifer Check, Eve Gigliotti, Brenda Harris, and Jennifer Zetlan. Dark Sisters will also be presented in June 2012 as part of the Opera Company of Philadelphia's chamber opera series at the Perelman Theater.

Newcomer Nikki Bohne will star in a new tour of the Tony-nominated LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL launching today in Jackson, Mississippi. Bohne, a recent graduate of Brigham Young University, will play the role originated in the film by Reese Witherspoon, and onstage by Tony nomiee Laura Bell Bundy. Bohne's regional credits include Aida (Amneris) and West Side Story (Anybodys) both at the Hale Center Theatre, Footloose (Rusty) and Annie Get Your Gun (Annie), both at the Playmill Theatre.

This new solo show with original music, written and performed by Norman P. Dixon, will play one preview performance on Friday, August 6 at 8pm and is set to open at the NoHo Arts Center on Saturday, August 7 at 8pm. The engagement will run through Sunday, September 12 only.

Let the sewing, stitching and snickering begin! The Emmy(R) Award nominated series, Project Runway, kicks off its eighth season with 17 talented designers - the most in series history - beginning Thursday, July 29, at 9pm ET/PT on Lifetime Television. In the show's expanded 90-minute format, the new crop of designers will encounter host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia and top-name guest designer and celebrity judges, including actress Selma Blair for the premiere episode, as they face inventive challenges, unexpected eliminations and other surprises along the way. Filmed on location in New York, each episode of the eighth season will feature more couture creations and fashion flubs as the designers attempt to make the cut to show at New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center.
