Semyon Bychkov will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct two weeks of programs, including the 50th anniversary of a Philharmonic commission, artist debuts, and symphonic cornerstones. In the first week, Mr. Bychkov will conduct Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1, with soloist Bertrand Chamayou in his Philharmonic debut; Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5; and Brahms's Tragic Overture, Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 18 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, May 19 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. 

The Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra offered another of its wildly successful pop up concert series at the Bank of Hawaii headquarters downtown on March 28. Joseph Stepec, Assistant Professor of Music at The University of Hawaii at Manoa, Director of Orchestras, conducted the free concert, which received thunderous applause throughout the event.

This spring Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) joins in international centennial celebrations for choreographer Jerome Robbins and composer Leonard Bernstein with an all-Robbins program featuring three company premieres. "UPMC Presents West Side Story Suite + In the Night + Fancy Free" with the PBT Orchestra takes the stage May 4-6, at the Benedum Center.

NBC Sports Group debuts This is Football, a new Premier League series hosted by Joe Scarborough, on Boxing Day (Tuesday, December 26) at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN. In the series, Scarborough, co-host of MSNBC's MORNING JOE and a longtime Premier League fan, will take viewers inside the history, tradition and rivalries between the clubs and their supporters.

Jerome Robbins, world renowned for his work as a choreographer and director of ballet and theater, film and television, would have been 100 years old on October 11, 2018. In honor of his life and legacy, The Jerome Robbins Foundation, partnering with other institutions across the country and around the world, will celebrate his centennial year through Spring 2019.

The 2018 Adelaide Festival program will launch on Tuesday 24 October 2017 at the Adelaide Town Hall. Continuing a Halloween-season tradition that resumed in 2013, shortly after the opening of the historic New Hope venue, Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) will once again present its popular production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show for an extended run beginning Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 29. Bucks County Playhouse's Executive Producer Robyn Goodman, Producing Director Alexander Fraser and Producers Stephen Kocis and Joshua Fiedler announced final casting for the production, which features direction by Hunter Foster (BCP's Clue: On Stage and Guys and Dolls ) with choreography by Lorin Latarro (BCP's Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story and Broadway's Waitress ).

The American Symphony Orchestra will open the 57th season of its Vanguard series at Carnegie Hall with a program titled The Sounds of Democracy on Wednesday, October 11 at 8 pm. All performances in this year's four-concert series - comprising three at Carnegie Hall and one at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall - will offer a timely political framework by examining the music composers have created under various types of leadership. American democracy was shaped by the ideals, vision, and principles of its leaders, particularly Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. The Sounds of Democracy is an evening featuring works of American composers inspired by the legacy of these two presidents, who protected our liberties and stood by the common people against the interests of the rich and powerful. Sessions' Second Symphony is dedicated to FDR, Bernstein's Kaddish is both a Jewish prayer for the dead and a celebration of life, and Copland wrote Canticle of Freedom in response to the assault on civil liberties during the McCarthy era. New York City Ballet will open its 2017-18 Season at Lincoln Center today, September 19, and will continue with 21 weeks of performances, through Sunday, June 3, featuring 61 ballets by 15 different choreographers.
