The American director, screenwriter and producer Michael Mann - a total filmmaker and one of the most influential and representative figures in contemporary American cinema - has been designated to chair the International Jury for the Competition at the 69th Venice International Film Festival (29 August - 8 September 2012), which will award the Golden Lion and other official prizes.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces that the company's acclaimed World Premiere production of The Outgoing Tide, by Bruce Graham and directed by BJ Jones, will be presented in association with Galway Arts Festival in Galway, Ireland, July 17 - 21, 2012. Cast members John Mahoney, Rondi Reed and Thomas J. Cox, are set to reprise the roles they originated in the Northlight production.

President Obama Greets Presidio Students at the Rose Marine Latino Film Festival

Artes de la Rosa will host the World Premiere Screening of It is Rocket Science in Presidio at the 2nd Annual Rose Marine Latino Film Festival. The film will screen on Saturday, February 25th at 7:00 p.m. Directed by Academy and Emmy Award winner Nigel Noble, the film is a short documentary of a Texasborder town physics teacher and her students' unprecedented success in national science and rocketry competitions. Students featured in the film, from the Presidio Rocketry Team, were recently invited to the White House where they participated in the 2nd White House Science Fair this past Tuesday. There, they met President Obama and invited him to the Premiere of the film documenting their journey at Rose Marine Latino Film Festival. A copy of the film was then presented to the Commander-in-Chief. Director Nigel Noble and students from the team will be in attendance at the screening of the film Saturday the 25th.
