Anniversaries are customarily times to reflect on the past, but for Maine State Music Theatre's Artistic Director, Curt Dale Clark, the 2018 gala celebration of the company's sixty years is not only a time to celebrate history, but also to use the significant milestone as an opportunity to look to the future. 'We are thinking forward and not resting on our laurels. We are accentuating what works, trying to fix what doesn't, and trying to find new ways to engage the community and make them happy,' Clark explains his philosophy about the Brunswick-based theatre's upcoming historic season.

Working intimately with directors like Yasujiro Ozu, Akira Kurosawa, Kenji Mizoguchi and Kon Ichikawa on some of their most important films, Kazuo Miyagawa (1908-99) pushed Japanese cinema to its highest artistic peaks through his lyrical, innovative, and technically flawless camerawork. Considered the greatest cinematographer of postwar Japanese cinema whose career endured through the 1990s, Miyagawa has influenced generations of leading filmmakers around the world.

The Second City announces complete casting for the return of The Second City's She the People: Girlfriends' Guide to Sisters Doing It for Themselves, a sketch show created, designed and performed entirely by the women of Second City. Back by popular demand, She the People features Carisa Barreca, Alex Bellisle, Katie Caussin, Maria Randazzo, Alexis J Roston and Kimberly Michelle Vaughn. Under the direction of Carly Heffernan with musical direction by Mary Mahoney, She the People runs January 11 April 1, 2018, in The Second City's UP Comedy Club, with the press opening on Thursday, January 18th at 8pm. The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for the 2018 Off Broadway on Flora season are on sale now! The Off Broadway On Flora season will feature a diverse range of shows ranging from immersive theatre to improv comedy to searing satire, many of which have enjoyed sold-out success in New York, Chicago and London.

Skylight Music Theatre today announced the director/choreographer and lead performers for this holiday season's production of Annie. This seven-time Tony Award-winning musical runs from November 17 through December 23, 2017 in the beautiful Cabot Theatre at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N.
