Glenn Slater's BEATSVILLE Musical Will Premiere in Asolo Rep's 2016-17 Season

Today, March 14, 2016, Asolo Rep and the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training announced their 2016-17 seasons to more than 350 patrons in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Parsons Dance Coming to The Joyce Theater

Parsons Dance, under the artistic direction of David Parsons, will present a season of premieres and favorites at The Joyce Theater from January 20 – January 31. Parsons Dance will perform a New York City premiere by choreographer David Parsons, along with a world premiere from former Parsons dancer and rising choreographer Katarzyna Skarpetowska. Tickets, priced from $10–$60, can be purchased by calling JoyceCharge at 212-242-0800 or via the internet at www.Joyce.org. The Joyce Theater is located at 175 Eighth Avenue at 19th Street.

Shakespeare Theatre Company to Launch 2015-16 Directors' Studio

In an effort to continue its vision to provide a training ground for the next generation of theatre artists, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) has launched its first-ever Directors' Studio, a series of workshops and discussions designed to investigate the craft of theatrical direction created for local, early-career directors. By application, six directors have been selected for the 2015-2016 season's Directors' Studio: Catrin Rowenna Davies, Rick Hammerly, Lee Liebeskind, Carter Lowe, Angela Kay Pirko, and Jason Schlasfstein.

On October 23 & 24, Persona, a new opera from composer Keeril Makan and adaptor / librettist / director Jay Scheib, will make its world premiere at National Sawdust. Commissioned by Beth Morrison Projects and National Sawdust, and adapted by Scheib from Ingmar Bergman's film of the same name, Persona is a provocative, highly cerebral, and artistically complex depiction of human frailty, cruelty and identity. These world premiere performances—which represent the first opera staged at National Sawdust—feature music direction by Evan Ziporyn and music by the ensemble Either/Or.

MILWAUKEE, WIS. 10/19/2015– The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, under the direction of Francesco Lecce-Chong, present MSO at the Basilica on November 13 & 14, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at the Basilica of St. Josaphat. This concert is a community concert and all tickets are priced at $5. The concerts will feature Bruckner's Te Deum in C major, along with Górecki's Symphony No. 3 “Symphony of Sorrowful Songs” and his choral work Totus Tuus.
