The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco present Anders Zorn: Sweden's Master Painter, bringing together one hundred of the artist's oil paintings, watercolors, etchings, and sculptures. Anders Zorn (Swedish, 1860–1920) was one of the world's most famous living artists at the turn of the twentieth century, known for his virtuoso painting and printmaking techniques. Although he was a hugely successful portrait painter in this country—depicting captains of industry, members of High Society, and three U.S. Presidents—it has been nearly a century since his work has been examined with a major American retrospective. Metropolitan Vanities: The History of the Dressing Table at The Metropolitan Museum of Art explores the evolution of the modern dressing table. The age-old impulse to be attractive or fashionable informs and animates much of the dressing table's lengthy design history, as it does many of the objects associated with the toilette, the ritual in which the dressing table reached new heights of elegance and sophistication. The exhibition provides an overview of the origins and development of the dressing table from antiquity to the present day with some 50 related objects, paintings, and drawings selected mainly from the Metropolitan's collection. Producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Louise Gund are pleased to announce that Roslyn Ruff will play the roles of Coretta Scott King and Fannie Lou Hamer in the Broadway bound production of ALL THE WAY by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan (The Kentucky Cycle). Ruff, who was most recently seen on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet, joins previously announced three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston ('Breaking Bad') as Lyndon B. Johnson, Michael McKean as J. Edgar Hoover, Brandon J. Dirden as Martin Luther King, Jr., Rob Campbell as Governor George Wallace, and 5-time Tony nominee John McMartin (Into the Woods, High Society, Sweet Charity, Show Boat, Don Juan) as Richard Russell.
