Denver Center for the Performing Arts Broadway announces the 2015 recipients for The Bobby G Awards, a regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards. Emma Buchanan and Evatt Salinger, the 2015 Bobby G Award recipients of the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, will represent Colorado at The National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York. High school students from across Washington State packedThe 5th Avenue Theatre tonight for The 13th Annual 5th Avenue Awards Honoring High School Musical Theater, a high school version of the Tony Awards, proudly sponsored by Wells Fargo with additional support from Alaska Airlines. The house was packed with over 2,000 teenagers, many in costumes representing their schools' musical theater productions, who cheered for their peers as they performed musical excerpts and accepted awards honoring top student achievements in musical theater. The acclaimed event, directed this year by Kat Ramsburg, handed out awards in 21 categories ranging from Outstanding Overall Musical Production to Outstanding Lobby Display. (more...)

Hey Broadway World! Its Noah again writing to you from the Goodspeed Opera House, where all of us in Guys and Dolls are starting to wrap up our time here. We have had an incredible run here and since starting performances in April, we will have done some 80-odd performances by the time we close on June 20. Having the chance to do a run this long has been amazing and the way the show has grown and deepened over the last two and a half months has been an absolute joy to witness. Everyone has been diving deeper into their characters day after day, scenes have been getting tighter, jokes have been getting funnier and we are all having the time of our lives. (more...)

We pride ourselves on our bounteous Southern hospitality here in Nashville, so who's gonna explain this: On Thursday, as thousands of country music fans gathered downtown for CMA Fest and thousands more fans of every musical genre you can think of were headed southward for the Bonnaroo Music Festival - just another summer in Tennessee, mind you - a truck spilled its load all over Interstate 65-S, adding to the hot, humid atmosphere with a whole mess of fish parts. Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today the spring 2015 honorees recognizing theatre accomplishments by Minnesota students and schools participating in the 2014-15 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program culminating in the SpotLight Showcase Sunday, June 14 and Monday, June 15 at the State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., downtown Minneapolis). Now celebrating its Tenth Anniversary, SpotLight is the Trust's premier education initiative which supports and honors Minnesota high school musical theatre students and programs that produce annual musicals.
