Broadway By the Bay, the Redwood City-based musical theatre company serving the Peninsula, devoted three months in search of an Executive Director, then discovered the successful candidate was right in front of them as a member of their board of directors. Daren A.C. Carollo is committed to establishing BBBay as a leader and a collaborator in Bay Area Theatre. "The short and long term goals created by the staff, the Board of Directors, and the BBBay family are directly inline with my goals for local theatre. BBBay is here to serve the community of Redwood City and the Peninsula. I look forward to strengthening our existing base of support as well as expanding it." Stephen Sondheim and Wynton Marsalis will collaborate on A BED AND A CHAIR: A New York Love Affair, a new musical event featuring Sondheim's music arranged and performed by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. This Encores! Special Event, directed by frequent Sondheim collaborator John Doyle, with choreography by Parker Esse and musical supervision by David Loud, was conceived by Peter Gethers, Jack Viertel and John Doyle, and will run for seven performances, November 13 - 17 at City Center.
