The Pulitzer Prize Board has just announced that English, by Sanaz Toossi has won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Other finalists included: On Sugarland by Aleshea Harris and The Far Country by Lloyd Suh.

David Foster will return to Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas for a two-night engagement of An Intimate Evening with David Foster: HITMAN Tour. The legendary musician, producer, and songwriter will once again be joined by special guest Katharine McPhee plus an arrange of world class vocalists, including Pia Toscano and Daniel Emmet, among others.

Second Stage Theater will partner with Common and his not-for-profit, Imagine Justice, to host “Justice Nights On Broadway” following the matinee performances of Between Riverside and Crazy at The Hayes Theater on Saturday, February 11th and Saturday, February 18th 2023.

Gary Perez has joined the cast of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY, directed by Austin Pendleton.  Mr. Perez assumed the role of Lieutenant Caro on January 20, 2023.

Theatre for a New Audience has announced the extension of the Off-Broadway premiere of Denis Johnson’s Des Moines. The final play from the late author now runs through January 8, 2023 (extended from an original closing date of January 1).

First Friday Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is asking everyone to “Believe” this December 2nd. The art walk area on Boulder Avenue and First Street will feature an estimated sixty First Friday artists and craftspeople. The food garden and bar area remain in the Art Square parking lot, along with entertainment.

Second Stage will offer simulcasts of its upcoming Broadway production of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY, directed by Austin Pendleton, for the final two weeks of its run, January 31 – February 12, 2023, allowing theater fans who aren’t able to attend in person the opportunity to witness a live Broadway performance from home.

The full company has been announced for Orlando – joining Emma Corrin, in the title role, are Deborah Findlay (Mrs Grimsditch), Jessica Alade (Virginia, Drunken Tory), Debra Baker (Virginia, Favilla, The Captain), Akuc Bol (Virginia, Euphrosyne, Prue), Lucy Briers (Virginia, Queen Elizabeth, Officer), Richard Cant (Virginia, Harriet, Kitty), Melissa Lowe (Virginia, Drunken Tory), Jodie McNee (Virginia, Marmaduke), Oliver Wickham (Virginia, Clorinda), and Millicent Wong (Virginia, Sasha, Nell).

The New York Irish Center, a hub for culture and community enrichment serving diverse constituencies in LIC, has a jam-packed fall season that is now underway.  Kicking off the fall is the sold-out, 3-night engagement of beloved Irish comedian Ardal O’Hanlon, September 29 to October 1, his first appearance on a New York stage in ten years.
