EgoPo Classic Theater's 25th Anniversary season devoted to John Guare is now in full swing. Coming up is the highlight of this season-long John Guare Festival: Guare's Lydie Breeze Trilogy, to be presented in its entirety for the very first time. EgoPo is tackling this epic piece of theatre about an American family, set between the Civil War and the birth of 20th-century industrialism, with three separate production runs of each part of the trilogy, followed by two weeks of three-day marathons and four opportunities for full day marathons.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) continues its 2017 18 season with Qui Nguyen's critically acclaimed play, Vietgone (February 21 April 22, 2018). Hailed as a raucous, immensely moving comedy by the New York Times, Vietgone is a modern twist on the classic story of boy meets girl. In this irreverent new comedy, three young Vietnamese immigrants leave a war-torn country for an eye-opening road trip across the bewildering and foreign landscape of 1970s America.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre presents Watch on the Rhine, Lillian Hellman's 1940s political thriller about loyalty, family, and sacrifice. The play, directed by Berkeley Rep's associate director Lisa Peterson, begins previews on Thursday, November 30, 2017 and runs through Sunday, January 14, 2018. PARADE is a rarely produced musical by THE LAST FIVE YEARS composer Jason Robert Brown, Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Alfred Urhy, and co-conceived by Hal Prince. Winner of the 1999 Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Original Score, it depicts the true story of Mary Phagan - a 13-year-old factory worker murdered in Atlanta during a Confederate Memorial Day Parade in 1913 - and the trial, wrongful conviction, and murder of her Jewish boss, Leo Frank.

Lantern Theater Company continues its 24th season with a world premiere production of The Craftsman by celebrated Philadelphia playwright Bruce Graham. Commissioned and developed through the Lantern's New Works Initiative, Graham's new play spins a darkly ironic tale of ambition, genius, and deception. M. Craig Getting will direct a cast that includes Mary Lee Bednarek, Dan Hodge, Anthony Lawton, Brian McCann, Paul L. Nolan, and Ian Merrill Peakes. American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today the final four productions that will comprise the lineup of the company's 2017-18 subscription season. The 2017-18 season marks the 25th anniversary of Perloff's arrival at A.C.T.; the longtime artistic director recently announced she would depart following the 2017-18 season.
