Disney Channel's Freaky Friday musical movie finally has a premiere date! The film starring Heidi Blickenstaff and Cozi Zuehlsdorff will be hitting the small screen August 10 at 8 p.m. ET.

It's more like a party than a musical...it's that much fun!

Starz, a Lionsgate company (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) today announced that Dean Winters ('Divorce,' John Wick), Devery Jacobs ('Cardinal,' 'The Order') and Kahyun Kim ('Shameless,' Freaky Friday) have been cast as Mr. Town, Sam Black Crow and New Media, respectively, in the sophomore season of the critically-acclaimed STARZ Original series 'American Gods.'

After a mini-tour around the United States beginning in 2016, the new musical adaptation of FREAKY FRIDAY will be coming to the Disney Channel over the summer. As it did on stage, the TV movie will star Broadway favorite Heidi Blickenstaff as one half of the mother-daughter duo at the center of the body-swapping story. Omaha Performing Arts will add five additional public elementary schools in Omaha, Council Bluffs and the surrounding area to the 2018 - 2019 Disney Musicals in Schools program. Omaha Performing Arts will provide schools with resources and support to produce their very own 30 - minute Disney KIDS musicals in 2019 at no cost.

The intriguing message, featuring “Mal” (daughter of Maleficent), alludes to a new villain character – Mal's father – joining the hugely popular story of the teenage sons and daughters of Disney's most infamous villains. Loyal fans have suspected and even demanded a “trequel” and have skillfully tracked clues across social media and the internet of recent pre-production activities in Vancouver, Canada. “Descendants 3” will begin production there in summer for a debut next year on Disney Channel.

Goodman Theatre announces the five Chicagoland elementary schools that have been selected to participate in the 2018 "Disney Musicals in Schools" program, an outreach initiative developed by Disney Theatrical Productions to create sustainable theater programs in under-resourced elementary schools. Coordinated by Goodman Theatre artists Adrian Azevedo and Anna Gelman, under the leadership of Walter Director of Education and Engagement Willa J.
