The Pacific Symphony's 24th Summer Festival, presented by Hoag Hospital, offers an exciting variety of music, beginning with a celebratory July 4th extravaganza, featuring the iconic music of The Eagles and culminating in a dazzling fireworks display. Enjoy an evening of Broadway magic that combines the cachet of "The Phantom of the Opera" with three extraordinary performers, and a night of Ludwig van Beethoven's greatest hits. Then, get a bang out of summer at the annual, all-new program for "Tchaikovsky Spectacular," with cannons and fireworks! The series concludes with Disney Live in Concert, featuring the Symphony performing the soundtrack to "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"-as it is shown on the big screen.

UPSTAIRS LANDING PRODUCTIONS launches the interview web series, "Standing By" on July 3rd, 2012 with special guests Sumayya Ali and David Hughey of the Tony winning best revival of "The Gershwins' Porgy And Bess".

Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing, the first production of the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) 2012 summer season, begins performances tonight, Monday, July 2nd at 8:00 p.m. and will run through Sunday, July 29th.

Producers of The Gershwins' PORGY AND BESS, the 2012 Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical, announced today that Audra McDonald has been ordered on a period of complete vocal rest by her doctor through the end of the month. As a result of performing with a respiratory infection last week, her vocal cords have become inflamed to a point where she cannot sing. She is scheduled to return to the production on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.

Desert favorites: Francesca Amari, Joel Baker, and Michael Holmes have put together a sure-fire hit with 'Tin Pans and Rags' and it will be presented tonight, June 17, 2012 at the Life Is A Cabaret's Sundays In Summer Series presented by Les Michaels at the Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert." It is their tribute to the Tin Pan Alley and Ragtime Music made popular by such composers as Scott Joplin, George and Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and even the impressionistic Claude Debussy.

The Old Globe will open its 2012-13 Winter Season with the World Premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical. Created by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione with music and lyrics by Kuo, the original musical tells the story of a Japanese American family forced into an internment camp during World War II. Directed by Stafford Arima (Carrie, Altar Boyz, West End premiere of Ragtime), the production features musical direction and arrangements by Lynne Shankel (Cry-Baby, Company). Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables), television and film icon George Takei ("Star Trek," "Heroes") and Telly Leung (Godspell, Rent) will star. The production has just announced that Allegiance will also feature costumes by Alejo Vietti, choreography by Andrew Palermo, and projections by Darrell Maloney.

According to the Daily Mail, RAGTIME's Rosalie Craig will join the new stage musical Finding Neverland, about J.M. Barrie's encounter with the Lewelyn Davies family, which inspired him to write Peter Pan.

York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) present the first New York City revival of the classic Off-Broadway hit Closer Than Ever with Lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Music by David Shire.
