Based on Victor Hugo's classic novel, "Les Miserables" is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Boublil and Schonberg's "Les Miserables" has music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer from the original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel and additional material by James Fenton. The production is directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell, designed by Matt Kinley inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo with costumes by Andreane Neofitou and additional costumes by Christine Rowlands, lighting by Paule Constable and sound by Mick Potter.

Deadline.com reports this morning that filming for Woverine 2, the sequel to the successful X Men franchise starring Hugh Jackman, may be pushed back to the spring of 2012 due to location scouting issues. The film had been tentatively scheduled to film in Japan this fall, however weather conditions have made securing locations difficult. The operation may now move to Canada instead.

Now, Deadline.com adds to the story noting that Paul Bettany is in the running to play Javert, and that he recently both read for the role and sung for it. The film is hoping to go into production later this year.
With a show as well-known worldwide as LES MISÉRABLES, casting is of the utmost importance. Though West End star Alfie Boe was long reported to be Cameron Mackintosh's first choice to play the iconic role of Jean Valjean in the long-anticipated film, Hugh Jackman is now in talks for the role.
