Artistic Director Jeffrey Cass and Executive Director Julie Ann Kornak have announced BrightSide Theatre's 3rdSeason - 2013-2014 - 'Life, Love & Laughter' ' Moonlight and Magnolias, Bleacher Bums, and Cabaret. 'These three pieces of theatre entertain the audience as we look at life through the lens of love and laughter,' explains Executive Director Julie Ann Kornak. 'From the love of the movies, to the love of the game, to those who love inside the cabaret, we hope you will join us for our 3rd season and share in the love and laughter that surround these characters' lives.' P.G. Wodehouse's beloved comic characters will once again come to life on the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) stage this spring in JEEVES IN BLOOM, April 11-28, 2013. This quick-witted British comedy is written by Illinois playwright Margaret Raether, who brought us our successful 2010 production of JEEVES INTERVENES. Reprising their roles from JEEVES INTERVENES are Matt Daniels as Jeeves and director Tami Workentin. ART of WNY Announces 2013-14 Season: BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, HATFUL OF RAIN, & More!

Dubbed the season of 'ART Inside the Box', the company has moved from Bittner Hall into the basement of 16 Linwood location and has converted it into a black box theater performance space. ART/WNY decision to move from Bittner Hall into this space allows the company more flexibility with productions scheduled for the 2013-14 season as well as allows ART/WNY more of a permenent presences in the space. 'We can build, create and light environments without the overhanging pressure to tear it down and reset the whole thing, from platforms to light grid, for each production.' Added Executive/Artistic Director Matthew LaChiusa. 'That's going to add to the production values of each piece as well as make it more of a engaging experience for patrons.' (more...)

TheatreSquared will open Tenneessee Williams' only comedy, set on Christmas Eve and rarely seen since its 1961 premiere, this week in a new production directed by Broadway veteran Sean Patrick Reilly. After a disastrous wedding night, George deposits Isabel at the home of his old army buddy, Ralph-whose own wife has just walked out-and promptly disappears. The unexpectedly warmhearted and poignant drama that follows is vintage Williams, with all the hallmarks that have defined him as one of America's greatest playwrights. (more...)
