Cortland Repertory Theatre kicks off their 45th Anniversary season at the Little York Pavilion in Preble with the regional premiere of Ken Ludwig's hysterical new 'hole in one' comedy The Fox on the Fairway. Performances will run from June 8rd - 18th with evening performances at 7:30 PM. Matinees are available on June 10th, 12th and 15th at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org. The GPS address for the Little York Pavilion is 6799 Little York Lake Road in Preble. (more...)

Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, is back to direct the first show of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement began performances on June 21 and runs through July 26, 2015, with opening night set for tomorrow, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. The Human Race Theatre Company's production runs tonight, June 11, through June 28, 2015 at The Loft Theatre. It is co-directed by Dayton Contemporary Dance Company Artistic Director Debbie Blunden-Diggs, who also serves as choreographer, and Human Race Theatre Founding Resident Artist Scott Stoney. Lewiston's Public Theatre ended its 2013-2014 season with Ron Hutchinson's slapstick sendup about the script writing of Gone with the Wind, Moonlight and Magnolias. Premiered in 2004, the play imagines the tense week in which the legendary producer, David O. Selznick, effectively kidnaps his new writer, newsman Ben Hecht, and director, Victor Fleming, demanding that the trio rewrite and rescue his floundering epic picture. The ensuing antics in this broad and boisterous comedy are wild and frenzied - almost a Three Stooges routine with barely a moment to catch a breath. (more...)
