February 19, 2018 - Based on Roundabout Theatre Company's Tony Award-winning production, Sam Mendes (Skyfall, American Beauty) and Rob Marshall's (Into the Woods and Chicago, the films) CABARET will play The Playhouse on Rodney Square in Wilmington for eight performances, March 13-19. This is the first time the Broadway revival has toured the historic Wilmington theater.

PRIMARY STAGES (Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Shane D. Hudson, Executive Director; Casey Childs, Founder) announced today Saturday Night Strings, a special post-show concert series following select Saturday night performances of A WALK WITH MR. HEIFETZ, written by James Inverne and directed by Andrew Leynse. All ticketholders for the evenings of Saturday, February 10 (Mariella Haubs); Saturday, February 17 (Edward W. Hardy of Sterling Strings); and Saturday, February 24 (Luisa Bastidas) are invited to remain after the performance to enjoy live music performed by special guest violinists. The concerts are free for all ticketholders for that evening's performance.

A Pulitzer Prize finalist, Love Letters is the touching, funny and ultimately moving story of a 50-year correspondence between two childhood friends whose relationship weathers time and distance. Through their letters to each other, we learn of their triumphs and tribulations, and ultimately the hilarious and poignant ways in which their lives unfold. Starring Phil Geoffrey Bond (Sondheim Unplugged, My Queer Youth, My Friend, the Cat, Small Town Confessions) and Jennifer Lee Andrews (a Depot regular as well as Broadway's Les Miserables, Grand Hotel, James Joyce's The Dead, etc.), a limited number of seats are available for this special, three-performance only engagement.

Under the baton of Jaime Laredo, the New York String Orchestra, an ensemble of young players from around the world who come together each year for a seminar of rehearsals and performance preparation, will give its two annual concerts in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage in late December. For more than 40 years, the orchestra has celebrated joyous music-making in concert on Christmas Eve. This year, on Sunday, December 24 at 7:00 p.m., the orchestra is joined by violinist Pamela Frank, who was once a student of Mr. Laredo, for Mozart's Sinfonia concertante on a program that also includes Vivaldi's Concerto in A Minor for Two Violins, Strings, and Continuo from L'estro armonico as well as Haydn's Drumroll Symphony. On Thursday, December 28 at 8:00 p.m., pianist Richard Goode is featured in Mozart's dramatic Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor. Also on the program is Gabriela Lena Frank's work Eleg a Andina inspired by Peruvian pan pipes and Mendelssohn's vibrant Scottish Symphony.
