Grace Farms Celebrates First Anniversary & Announces New Programming

Grace Farms Foundation marked the one-year anniversary of Grace Farms, a center for nature, arts, justice, community, and faith, with a one-week celebration and benefit attended bycultural and community leaders, philanthropists, architects, and artists. The commemorative week included the unveiling of a site-specific 108-foot-long wall painting by Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes; a performance by former New York City Ballet principal dancer Wendy Whelan; a presentation of Practicing Awe featuring Gallim Dance,Cindertalk, soprano Audrey Fernandez-Fraser, and countertenor Daniel Moody; artist Molly Gochman's Red Sand Project; and conversations with Iwan Baan, renowned architecture photographer, and Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, of the Pritzker Prize-winning Japanese firm SANAA. Cohan in Yankee Doodle Dandy that earned him the Academy Award and forever cemented his place as one of America's most beloved movie legends alongside the likes of Clark Gable, Charlie Chaplin, Marlon Brando, Jimmy Stewart and Fred Astaire. This elite packed house at The Triad Theatre in NYC spurred on the interactive audience, like a fueled crowd at a sporting event. Bergen County Players to Present THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO

Religious tolerance gets an intra-ethnic twist in the Bergen County Players production of "The Last Night of Ballyhoo." Written by playwright Alfred Uhry, of "Driving Miss Daisy" fame, Ballyhoo won the 1997 Tony Award for best play. This production, directed by Carol Fisher, starts its run on Saturday, October 22, ending on Saturday, November 12. Curtain goes up for Friday and Saturday performances at 8 pm, with Sunday matinees at 2 pm. It will be presented at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. (more...)
