Rehearsals are set to begin on Tuesday, July 25 for the Playwrights Horizons New York premiere production of For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday, a new play by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony Award nominee Sarah Ruhl (Stage Kiss, Dead Man's Cell Phone at Playwrights; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; The Clean House).

Arkansas Repertory Theatre announced today that John Miller-Stephany has been named the theatre's new Producing Artistic Director. He assumes his new role in mid-October. The announcement by Board Chair Brian Bush ends an extensive national search.

This summer, L.A. audiences get to see a brand new play by Tennessee Williams. Simon Levy directs the West Coast premiere of Baby Doll, adapted by Pierre Laville and Emily Mann from the 1956 Academy Award-nominated film of the same name - the first-ever Williams Estate-approved adaptation of this Williams screenplay. Baby Doll opens at the Fountain Theatre on July 16, starring Daniel Bess, Karen Kondazian, Lindsay LaVanchy, John Prosky and George Roland.

In May, the city of St. Louis will pay homage to the city's favorite playwright - Tennessee Williams  - with an annual Tennessee Williams Festival St. Louis (TWFSTL).  This inaugural celebration kicks off May 11th and runs through the 15th on a variety of both conventional and unexpected stages in the Grand Center and Central West End areas. Highlights from this first festival include a Hirschfeld Exhibition Unveiling and An Evening with Olympia Dukakis.  With a focus on St. Louis, the TWFSTL will offer something for all tastes - theatrical productions, movies, a visual art exhibition, readings, panel discussions, a tour, and live music.   Tickets will be available through Metrotix.

The Flea Theater has announced a unique collaboration between The Museum of Jewish Heritage, The Public Theater, The Flea Theater, and individuals, Luna Kaufman, Emmanuel Ruranga, M.S. L.P.C., Daniel Neiden and Erika Feldman. In commemoration of the 19th anniversary of the start of the Rwandan genocide, the group will produce a one time only public reading performance of a new play by Jay O. Sanders.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the addition of Slowgirl by Greg Pierce to this summer's line-up. Directed by ensemble member Randall Arney, the production features ensemble member William Petersen with Rae Gray in the newly reconfigured Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St), July 18 - August 25, 2013. Following its acclaimed 16-week run at the Lookingglass Theatre Company this fall, Metamorphoses brings the mythical tales of Ovid to life at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, 10 years after the Broadway premiere. Written and directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman, Metamorphoses is based on David Slavitt's translation and marks the first time Zimmerman will direct the production since its Broadway run. This is also the first time Zimmerman will stage Metamorphoses in the round, and a custom set will be designed with the largest pool of water ever created for this production. Metamorphoses dives onto the Fichandler Stage tonight, February 8-March 17, 2013.
