The glamorous passenger train Twentieth Century Limited, which ran between New York and Chicago between 1902 and 1967, is the main setting for the musical screwball comedy ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY now playing through August 27 at the Pan-Andreas Theatre, 5119 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90038. Based partly on the 1930s film and play of the same name, the musical, with book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and music by Cy Coleman, is part operetta, part farce, and part screwball comedy telling the story of the behind-the-scenes relationship between Lily, a temperamental actress and Oscar, a bankrupt theatre producer. The duo, played with great skill and comedic timing by Alena Bernardi and Wade Kelley, recount the tale of their adventure traveling from Chicago to New York in the 1930s as Oscar tries to cajole the glamorous Hollywood star into playing the lead in his new, but not-yet-written drama, and perhaps to rekindle their romance.

59E59 Theaters will host the US premiere of THE ROUNDABOUT written by J.B. Priestley, directed by Hugh Ross, and part of Brits Off Broadway. Produced by Cahoots Theatre Company, The Other Cheek & Park Theatre, THE ROUNDABOUT begins performances on Thursday, April 20 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 28.  Press Opening is Sunday, April 30 at 3 PM.

The University of Texas at Austin's award-winning dance company Dance Repertory Theatre returns to the stage in Momentum, February 15-26 at the B. Iden Payne Theatre. An exploration of the influence of African American culture upon contemporary dance in the twenty-first century, Momentum features works by nationally renowned artists, including Gesel Mason, Dr. Lorenzo 'Rennie' Harris, Abby Zbikowski, Adrienne Hurd, Netta Yerushalmy, Ananya Chatterjea and Dance Repertory Theatre Artistic Directors Charles O. The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), 2016 Musical America Ensemble of the Year, begins its 21st season advocating for the best in contemporary and 20th century orchestral music. On Saturday, October 8, at Jordan Hall, BMOP presents distinctive and exciting symphonic works by four prominent voices that have helped to shape the American concert scene over the past three-quarters of a century: The Schubert Birds by Michael Colgrass; Symphony Concertante by Gail Kubik, featuring soloists Terry Everson (trumpet), Jing Peng (viola), and Vivian Choi (piano), and Partita in C by Harold Shapero featuring Vivian Choi (piano). Highlighting the evening's program is Steven Stucky's Chamber Concerto: a special tribute to one of new music's leading champions.
