Based in Israel, Roy Assaf Dance makes its U.S. debut with a program of clever and heartfelt works in the Doris Duke Theatre July 12-16. A rising choreographic star, Assaf has been commissioned by companies across the globe including Batsheva Dance Company, The Royal Swedish Ballet, National Dance Company Wales, and LA Dance Project. The program opens with Assaf's embracing duet Six Years Later which is praised for its "beauty, nuances, and intricate, astute movements" (Ora Brafman, Jerusalem Post), and closes with his powerful all-male trio The Hill, inspired by veterans' experiences and based on the Hebrew song "Givat Hatachmoshet".
Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE, called 'a New York City treasure' by The New York Times, makes its annual visit to The Joyce for six performances, June 8-11. The remarkably poised, scrupulously schooled, and impeccably rehearsed whiz-kids, numbering 60, ages 11-17, will delight audiences young and old with Feld classics Meshugana Dance and The Jig is Up, along with two Feld works created especially for Kids Dance: Upside Dance and the new Pointing, a premiere for four young ladies en pointe. And, continuing his commitment to expanding the repertory with works created expressly for youngsters, Feld will present two new dances: The Wild Current by Laura Careless set to a collage of music that ranges from Debussy to the Native Jazz Quartet, and ?It's The Effort That Counts a collaboration by Conner Bormann, Riley O'Flynn, and Stephanie Terasaki, in which the rhythms are provided by a metronome.

Kathryn Posin Dance Company is honored to have been invited by the 92nd Street Y to be the company that re-opens the fabled 900-seat Kaufman Concert Hall, for years one of New York's major dance venues, re-opening after a long closure. Performances will take place February 11 & 12, 2016 on the stage that has seen many early performances by the companies of Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, Alvin Ailey and, in 1967, the choreographic debut of Kathryn Posin. Following last year's acclaimed Public Works production of The Tempest, The Public Theater will continue this community-based initiative this September with a free original musical adaptation of Shakespeare's THE WINTER'S TALE. Featuring more than 200 New Yorkers from all five boroughs performing alongside professional actors and The Public's community partners, Public Works' THE WINTER'S TALE will run for three nights only, September 5-7, at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Free tickets will be distributed, two per person, at 12:00 p.m. on the day of the show at the Delacorte Theater and via the Virtual Ticketing lottery at www.publictheater.org.

The Catskill Mountain Foundation (CMF) announced today the launch of its inaugural Orpheum Dance Festival at the new Orpheum Performing Arts Center in Tannersville, New York. The theater, designed by acclaimed theater architect Hugh Hardy, provides a rare combination of state-of-the-art proscenium dance stage with splendid acoustics. The festival's centerpiece is a performance by the world renowned Paul Taylor Dance Company on May 22, which complements a larger three-week performance residency by Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company (Taylor 2) from May 6 to May 26, 2013.
