Review - (Re)Enter Laughing
by Kristin Salaky - Jan 31, 2009

When the York Theatre first presented its mainstage mounting of Enter Laughing back in September I wrote that, while far too early to tell, it might well wind up being the funniest, most entertaining production of a musical we'll see this season. Four months later, I must admit that it has indeed been topped... by itself. After taking a hiatus while the space was committed for another show, director Stuart Ross' slam-bang mounting returns to the York a little funnier, a little snazzier and featuring the best male leading performance in a musical the season has seen thus far.

Review - Enter Laughing: Spring Awakening Goes To The Bronx?
by Kristin Salaky - Sep 15, 2008

What's that? You've seen Spring Awakening 87 times and you were wondering if there were any other musicals about sex-crazed teenagers who rebel against their parents and express their innermost thoughts when time stands still and songs act as internal monologues? Well it just so happens the show for you played on Broadway, albeit briefly, over thirty years ago and is now receiving an absolutely hilarious revival at the York.

The First Annual 'PHANTOM' Fans Week Recap
by Eddie Varley - Sep 22, 2009

Phantom Fan Week: I'll resist the temptation to write 'Phantom Phans' but, in truth, even though I am very used to fans, I've never seen anything quite like this. The deal was that fans of Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular (the very aptly named version of the show at The Venetian) could come to Las Vegas and get total immersion in their favorite entertainment. There were behind-the-scenes tours, meet-and-greets with key people in the production, a masquerade ball, dinner with the producers and a farewell brunch. It was three days that fans of anything or anyone - show, actor, singer, sports team - would love. I was fortunate to attend five of the events and, herewith, my report.
