The Oregon Shakespeare Festival wrapped up its 2017 season on October 28 with the final performances of Shakespeare in Love, Henry IV, Part Two, and Julius Caesar.

A populist candidate, promising to return the country to greatness, becomes president of the United States, and then all hell breaks loose in It Can't Happen Here, a new play based on Sinclair Lewis' eerily prescient 1935 novel, adapted for the stage by Tony Taccone and Bennett S. Cohen. Foothill Theatre Arts presents It Can't Happen Here, directed by Bruce McLeod, for three weeks only, now through November 19, 2017 at the Lohman Theatre, on the Foothill College Campus (at the bottom of the hill), 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills. Hampstead Theatre presents the world premiere of Nicholas Wright's The Slaves of Solitude directed by Jonathan Kent.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the complete company for The Pajama Game directed by Alan Paul in his Arena Stage debut, with music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, and book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell.

San Francisco Ballet, long recognized for pushing boundaries in dance, has announced its 2017-18 Season program and schedule. This summer, SF Ballet will return to Festival Napa Valley for one performance only on Friday, July 21, 2017, accompanied by members of the SF Ballet Orchestra. In addition, this October, the Company will once again participate in World Ballet Day LIVE, a day-long streaming event (details to be announced).

In the company's 2016-2017 Season finale, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) will present the North American premiere of Derek Deane's dramatic “Romeo and Juliet” with the PBT Orchestra in five performances April 21-23, at the Benedum Center.

The best-selling Russian crime fiction writer Boris Akunin's new stage adaptation of Shakespeare's HAMLET will debut this spring Off-Broadway when Red Lab Productions and Roust Theatre Company present HAMLET. A VERSION, with previews beginning April 21, prior to the official press opening on April 25 at The Theater at St. Clement's (423 W. 46 St.) in New York City. HAMLET. A VERSION is directed by Irina Gachechiladze. The production features original music by Georgian composer Giya Kancheli.

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks) will honor two outstanding stage luminaries at this year's 83RD Annual Drama League Awards, set for Friday afternoon, May 19, 2017 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway).

The tour will begin at Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne on 19 August, with a National press night on Wednesday 7 September at Salisbury Playhouse.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) showcases the interplay of music and film with 'LACO @ the Movies: An Evening of Disney Silly Symphonies,' a program of dazzling and delightful Academy Award-winning animation created by Walt Disney Studios between 1929 and 1939, with orchestral scores performed live by Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra led by six-time Emmy award-winning composer Mark Watters, on Saturday, June 4, 2016, 7 pm, at the historic Orpheum Theatre movie palace in downtown Los Angeles. Westport Country Playhouse will open its 2016 Season with two Tony Award-winning plays staged in repertory, "Art" and "Red," with each play alternating daily, from May 3 through May 29.  "Art" by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, and "Red" by John Logan, will be directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.  Each of the plays is about art:  making it, owning it, the anguish of creating it, and the ache of believing in it.
